Read What Our Customers Say

“What a pleasure it was to work with Eugene and his team. We never had to wait more than a couple hours for a response (which is a big deal for me and my family, who are all planners!) and we had absolutely no problem at immigration or during our tour. Getting to skip lines and see many of the amazing landmarks of St. Petersburg was great, but the fact that a) we got to learn about food and culture too and b) everything was tailored for two of our group who were under 3 years old just took it over the top. Loved the combination of standards (Hermitage) and quirks (subway ride). Would 100% recommend to anyone, especially people who are looking for a personal touch to their time in St. Petersburg, and we all still talk so fondly about our two days there.”

On this day 74 years ago the main fountain of the On this day 74 years ago the main fountain of the Great Cascade in Peterhof was installed back to where it belongs. It was a very special event for a few reasons:

First was the way Samson was restored.

Samson goes back all the way to the beginning of the 18th century. Russia then celebrated 25 years since the iconic Poltava battle and it was back then that they had installed this sculpture in the center of the Great Cascade. It was made of lead and by the end of 1700s had lost it’s shape and form due to wear.

It was substituted with the bronze statue made in the early 1800s by a National Treasure of a Sculptor - M. Kozlovsky and it was later irrevocably lost in WWII when Germans trashed the whole place leaving nothing behind. No sketches survived and during the restoration the head sculptor at the time, V. Simonov, recreated the sculpture without any documental evidence. And it’s the one we see when we come to Peterhof today.

And the second reason why today’s event is so special was the way Samson was delivered to Peterhof - it was put on a truck and taken through the streets of St Petersburg with honors and then it proceeded all the way to Peterhof where it was installed. Thousands of residents came out on the streets to greet their beloved Samson (check the photos in carousel).

All of the sculptures of the Great Cascade were restored or reinstalled (after being buried before the war to hide them from the enemy) by the summer of 1950. Yet it took some other 20 years to complete the restoration.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, dear friends! 🎉 🥂 HA HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, dear friends! 🎉 🥂

HAPPY 245th, America! Here, Across the Atlantic, we salute you, your Founding Fathers and their “never give up” attitude.

On this day, in 1776, in the world of corrupt monarchs, prime ministers and general secretaries you the people have chosen to walk the path of Freedom and the Pursuit of Happiness.

When people of other countries bowed to the likes of Catherine the II of Russia, Bonaparte of France and Friedrich or Prussia you were building the greatest nation in the history of the world alongside with George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan.

It surely is an honor to have met so many of you who took the time to come visit us in St Petersburg and Moscow, to talk to you, learn about your culture from you, make friends with you, highlight the differences between our two countries in history, politics, culture, and it was an absolute pleasure to show you, dear friends, around.

May you all stay safe, happy and always reach your goals in life no matter how tough it may get.

Enjoy the Fireworks tonight, Happy Birthday, America and God Speed 🎇🇺🇸🦅🎆

99 in the shade in St Petersburg and the only way 99 in the shade in St Petersburg and the only way to stay fresh is go around in a boat (just like they did in Peter the Great’s times) and keep driving winecoolers. If you do it at night you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular sight of all the big bridges going up across Neva river. Stay cool everyone! ❤️❌❤️❌
