The Hermitage museum has started the week with a blast – an exceptional exhibition done in partnership with “Cartier” has started there and is going to take place until late April this year. The exhibition continues the fruitful collaboration that first happened 30 years ago and today’s exhibtion presents 5 art pieces that were just restored by “Cartier” for the museum. You can see the opening ceremony followed by a brief guided tour (in Russian) on museum’s official YouTube page.
It has been snowing all week in St Petersburg and all the major news outlets have been posting pictures of what the city looks like right now.
2/23 is a national holiday in Russia marking the day Red Army was established after the Russian revolution. Today the Russians celebrate ‘all men’ who are considered the ‘defenders of Motherland’. A traditional cannon shot which is done daily at noon from one of the walls of Sts Peter and Paul Fortress was dedicated to this holiday.
Sts Peter and Paul Fortress together with a local military academy have hosted a one day exhibition showing citizens different guns and trucks. We came to check it out and made a short video about it. Watch it here:
